Our unique, custom-produced Imperial Puerh consists entirely of painstakingly hand-crafted tiny, shimmering golden leaf buds, making it one of the world's rarest and most difficult teas to produce. When infused the liquor is a deep, golden amber with a rich, supremely full-bodied flavor that is smooth and savory with a hint of cocoa and a deliciously lingering creamy aftertaste.
GROWING REGION
Yunnan, China: With abundant rainfall, mild climate, and fertile land, Yunnan Province has ideal conditions for tea cultivation and is known as the historical birthplace of medicinal teas.
BREWING INSTRUCTIONS
Imperial Puerh tea responds well to most methods of tea preparation, but in order to bring out its uniquely full-bodied richness we recommend brewing it gongfu style. Generously cover the bottom of the pot with tea leaves, add near boiling water and infuse for around 1-3 minutes depending on desired intensity. Decant into a pitcher or directly into warmed tasting cups and enjoy. Imperial Puerh may be infused multiple times. Always adjust quantity of leaves, infusion time, and water temperature according to your personal preferences.
This is my favorite tea. It is a luxury for me to begin my day with about 1/2 hour with the tea when I can. I use several steepings for meditation and opening my day. The tea has a subtle earthy flavor that reminds me of how a forest path smells after it rains. Very grounding and uses all my senses--smelling the leaves dry and wet, tasting with my full tongue, feeling the warmth of the cup, seeing the colors of each steeping. I feel like I'm drinking a part of the Earth with each sip. Each steeping becomes sweeter and broader in flavor. If I use a traditional cup and brew in the cup, I can get up to 7-8 steepings and by the time I'm finished and the water is clear, I'm ready for anything.
