BREWING INSTRUCTIONS
Start by warming your chawan (matcha bowl) with hot water, then empty and wipe it dry. Add approx. 1 teaspoon (or 1-2 chashaku scoops) matcha into the bowl, and then pour in 70ml of 70C/158F water. Using a matcha whisk, froth the tea in repeated “W”-shaped movements. As foam starts to form, slightly raise your whisk above the bottom of the bowl, so that you're introducing more air into the top of the surface of the liquid. Every step should be done mindfully, like a dance. Once the matcha is fully dissolved, enjoy. Optional: You can sift your matcha through a sieve for a to remove any lumps or uneven texture, which should create a creamier end result.
