DESCRIPTION

The osmanthus flower is also known as the “tea olive” in the West. The Chinese have been using Osmanthus to flavor food and tea for many generations. The gentle fragrance of the osmanthus compliments this Keemun black tea particularly well. The tiny osmanthus flower exudes a gentle and unique aroma, adding a light, almost fruit-like flavor to the cup. This combination also enhances the texture of the infusion. Because of the mild nature of the osmanthus flower, we suggest increasing your water temperature to make a slightly stronger cup.

GROWING REGION

Anhui, China: Province in southeastern China, known for producing black teas in the late 1800’s. A number of excellent green and black teas are now grown in the region.

BREWING SUGGESTIONS

Use 3-4 grams per 6-8 oz of water, brew with boiling or near-boiling water for multiple infusions. Always adjust steeping time, temperature and quantity of leaves according to your own preference.
