DESCRIPTION

Jing Shan Mao Feng is also known as Jing Shan Buddhist Tea. Jing Shan (Jing Mountain) has a significant pedigree in China. Since the Tang Dynasty, local monks have been known to harvest and enjoy the tea produced in Jing Shan. In the same period, the tea sage Lu Yu was said to have worked on his classic “The Classic of Tea” (or Cha Jing) in Jing Shan. It has also been reported that Japanese Monks visiting China during the Tang Dynasty, brought tea plants from Jing Shan to be grown in Japan. This esteemed tea features long, elegantly twisted leaves. The cup is sweet with good flavors, aromatics of fragrant wild greens, and a hint of mild floral notes. The light greenish-yellow cup is bright and clear. This Mao Feng-style green tea is meant to be an unaggressive green tea. It can be wonderfully enjoyable when steeped with mid to high-temperature water.

GROWING REGION

Zhejiang, China: Zhejiang, China is an eastern coastal province with a humid, subtropical climate. One of the most famous tea-producing regions in China, records of tea production here date back as early as the Wei and Jin Dynasties, 1500 years ago.

BREWING SUGGESTIONS

Since this tea is unaggressive in nature, you shouldn’t be afraid to use more tea with lower temperatures for longer and repeated infusions. Always adjust quantity of leaves, infusion time, and water temperature according to your personal preferences.
