Our partners roll large, tender leaves into evenly sized little balls which blossom under hot water to produce a full, rich and smooth cup of refreshing green tea. Zhejiang, China: Zhejiang, China is an eastern coastal province with a humid, subtropical climate. One of the most famous tea producing regions in China, records of tea production here date back as early as the Wei and Jin Dynasties, 1500 years ago.
To prepare Gunpowder tea we recommend either a full-sized teapot or standard sized 6 oz Gaiwan. Use about half 3 grams of leaves per Gaiwan or per 10 oz of water, infuse with 70-75C (158-167F) water for 1-2 minutes. Because Gunpowder tea leaves are rather large and take a while to open fully, they may be re-infused several times.
