DESCRIPTION

Produced on the peaks of Zhangjiajie, a UNESCO world heritage site in China’s central Hunan province, this exceptional tea is grown in naturally fertile soils at altitudes of over 2,000 feet. The mountain’s heavenly peaks are covered year-round by clouds and mist. This curled tippy green tea produces a smooth cup with mild chestnut undertones. The liquor is clear and a bright green-yellow. This is a very approachable and easy to brew tea that can be enjoyed on any occasion.

GROWING REGION

Zhejiang, China: Zhejiang, China is an eastern coastal province with a humid, subtropical climate. One of the most famous tea producing regions in China, records of tea production here date back as early as the Wei and Jin Dynasties, 1500 years ago.

BREWING SUGGESTIONS

We suggest 3-5 grams of tea per 6-8 oz water. Infuse with water at approximately 70C, or 158F, for 1 minute in a thin porcelain Gaiwan or cup. Decant the infused tea into a second cup before enjoying. Multiple steepings are recommended. Always adjust quantity of leaves, infusion time, and water temperature according to your personal preferences.

A lovely nose that is then sustained thru various steepings. There are hints of Japanese temple green tea in the over-all taste. The leaf was not overly cooked or dry as with some Chinese teas. Good for mental clarity and calm starts to the day.
