2006 Vintage Ban Zhang Sheng Puerh Tea Cake
$200.00 — available on subscription
Ban Zhang Puerh is notable for its strong character and its suitability for long-term aging. The leaf is typically a dark yellowish-green, with mature flavors that produce a big, chewy, and concentrated mouth-feel. The intensity and harshness of Ban Zhang Puerh make it most suitable for long-term aging in more humid environments. If you are one of those people who are taking a long-term view with respect to a Puerh Tea collection, this is a tea of good value worth adding to your collection.
Yunnan, China: With abundant rainfall, mild climate, and fertile land, Yunnan Province has ideal conditions for tea cultivation and is known as the historical birthplace of medicinal teas.
This green Puerh is compressed and features large leaves. As a result, it requires hot water to fully extract its flavors. We recommend using a standard 6 oz. Gaiwan (do not pre-warm the Gaiwan). Fill with 3-5 grams of leaves, cover with lid, and steep in near-boiling water for 2-3 minutes. Drain your tea into another vessel to avoid over-steeping. Always adjust quantity of leaves, infusion time, and water temperature according to your personal preferences.
