Imperial Green Oolong
Oolong Green Tea

Taiwan once known as Formosa, is an island state that lies 110 miles off the southeastern coast of the mainland, characterized by rugged mountains and gently rolling plains with a humid, marine climate. Cultivation of tea began in 1717.

Imperial Green Oolong*:

Erratic weather conditions has made great Oolong hard to find — this year, Taiwan’s annual harvest was diminished by almost 30%. Because of this, our usual supplies of Fushou Shan Oolong have not met our high standards of quality. Thankfully, Roy was able to call on his extensive network in order to find a batch of Oolong from the Wuling region that was worthy of becoming our Imperial Green Oolong. However, our supplies are limited to only 15 kilograms, so any Oolong lovers should move quickly to secure some!

Our Imperial Green Oolong features exceptionally full-bodied textures, a silky mouth-feel, and deep layers of flavor. The finish is sweet and cleansing, complimented by sweet melon tones with hints of orchid and osmanthus flowers.

In order to showcase the floral and complex layers of flavor, good water is enormously important. We suggest 5-7 grams of tea per 8 oz of water. Steep with near boiling water for a minimum of approximately 2 minutes. Repeated steepings are recommended. This tea is also an excellent candidate for practicing traditional gong fu tea. As always, adjust quantity of leaves, steeping time, and water temperature according to personal preference.
