Named for the lucky flower of wealth it resembles, this truly unique and
beautiful tea is carefully hand-made by experienced tea artisans who
select and arrange the choicest large tea buds and tie them with a silk
thread. The resulting intricate little buds "blossom" when covered with
hot water and produce a sweet-smelling, pale gold infusion with a
deliciously smooth and floral, full-bodied flavor which lasts through
many infusions.
PREPARATION: Green Peony is a unique and beautiful tea which you will
want to share with your friends and serve in a special way. For each
person we suggest using either a gaiwan (the traditional Chinese covered
steeping cup) or a large western-style porcelain teacup. Place a single
"peony" bud in each cup and cover with water heated to 75-80°C
(167-176°F) and allow to infuse for 1-2 minutes. The tea may be decanted
and served in additional tasting cups or drunk right from the gaiwan or
teacup. Green Peony is a robust tea which will last through many
subsequent infusions by gradually increasing steeping time and water
temperature.
