Itinerary
4/16:
Arrive Shanghai, pick up at the airport, late dinner and check into hotel.

4/17:
Shanghai City Tour. Visit the Yu Garden, one of the finest examples of Ming Dynasty architectural garden design in Eastern China. The Yu Garden is divided into six parts with 30 halls and pavilions. Stroll the Bund, which for the past 100 years has been considered China's connection to the world. Walk the 1.5 km of walkway by the Huang Pu River and marvel at the many brightly lit Western and Eastern style buildings along the river. View the Oriental Pearl TV tower, showcase of modern-day China's quest for modern technologies. Savor a Shanghai specialty dinner. After-dinner visit to the Xin Tian Di area—another perfect example of the past meeting the present and East meeting West. Xin Tian Di offers jazz clubs, discos, French and European Dinning, as well as traditional Chinese restaurants and architecture.

4/18:
Bus to Hangzhou, the city ancient Chinese deemed closest to heaven, with beautiful gardens, breath-taking views of the world famous West Lake, and the legendary LingYin Temple, with a history tracing back to 907-960AD. Visit The China Tea Museum and enjoy a Hangzhou style tea ceremony. Tea dinner in the world famous West Lake’s Hupanju restaurant—sample numerous tea dishes prepared in the elegant style only found in Hangzhou.

4/19:
Bus to the tea farm! Your first chance to gain hands-on experience. Climb up the gentle slopes and pick your own tea! After tea picking, you'll get a chance at tea processing. We will walk you through each step as you participate, or you may simply watch. Take home the fruit (in this case tea) of your own labor!

4/20:
The Emperor Qian Long toured the world famous West Lake in his private charter Dragon Boat during the Qing Dynasty. Well if it's good enough for him, it'll be good enough for us! Sample fresh Dragon Well Tea processed by group members the night before in our own private-charter Dragon Boat while enjoying the soothing sounds of classical Chinese music performed by traditional musicians. Dinner at Louwailou Restaurant, a restaurant that has served many Chinese leaders of the past, and experience the unforgettable presentation of true culinary flavors of Hangzhou. Evening flight to Fuzhou, check into hotel.

4/21:
The southern city of Fuzhou is known as Rong Cheng (The City of Banyan Trees). Marvel at large and ancient Banyan trees everywhere! Afternoon bus ride to Gushan (Drum Mountain) to visit Yougquansi Temple. Watch the temple's evening prayers and dine on pure vegetarian delights produced right there in the temple!

4/22:
Rest Period; time for reflection or shopping. Lunch and flight to Wuyishan, known for its cliffs and boulders, breath-taking natural beauty, and as the home of one of China's most famous teas—Wuyi Yan Cha.

4/23:
Tour Wuyishan scenic areas. Enjoy Wuyi Style Tea Banquet dinner at the Tea Garden Hotel.

4/24:
Morning hike up the mountain to the tea farm. An exhilarating walk that puts you in close touch with Wuyi Shan's unique beauty as literally each turn presents you with a different mind-blowing vista. Harvest your own tea and carry it down the mountain. We will walk you through each step of oolong tea processing, and you may take home your own tea as a souvenir.

4/25:
Flight to Beijing. Afternoon tour of the Forbidden city, Hutong (alley tour), Tiananmen Square. Enjoy the Peking Opera and a Peking Duck dinner banquet.

4/26:
Tour the Symbol of Imperial China: The Great Wall. Walk on one of the most magnificent human works of wonder on earth. The Summer Palace—perhaps the best example of Imperial architecture.
