Puerh - Cake
Yunnan Round Tribute Tea
Once, after drinking too much wine, the Qing dynasty Emperor Qianlong (1736-1795) was served a cup of Yunnan province's famous Puerh tea. The Emperor was so impressed with the restorative properties of the dark infusion that he named Puerh tea an annual "tribute" to the Imperial Palace. This specially packaged bundle of four individually wrapped Puerh tea cakes is marked "Yunan Round Tribute Tea" on the outside while each cake is embossed with the Chinese characters for "tea" (showing above) and "longevity". Ideal for aging or a special gift for Puerh aficionados.4 individually wrapped tea cakes (4.5" round 1" thick) 9oz each.
To prepare Puerh cake tea break off a small piece and gently crumble it into a teapot or gaiwan. Quickly flush (cover the leaves with hot water and pour it off) and appreciate the aroma of the wet leaves. Then infuse with near-boiling water for 1-3 minutes and serve. Puerh may be re-steeped 3 or 4 times.
