Description
This pot is modeled after a teapot unearthed from the tomb of the eunuch Wu Jing, who lived during the Ming Dynasty, at Majiashan outside the Zhonghua Gate of Nanjing City. Dated to 1533, that pot is the earliest example of a teapot made from Yixing's famous purple clay. Our lovely "Bridge-Handle" teapot, inspired by the original Wu Jing teapot, was specially commission by us from Ms. Zhou Xiao Qin, one of the foremost makers of Yixing teapots and the grand-student of Gu Jin Zhou, the father of modern Yixing pottery.
