I bought this water kettle from Imperial around 1990. I first used it daily at work, and when I quit my job to work at home in 2001, I brought it in. I have probably boiled up water two or three times a day almost every single day since 1990.
In that time, it has never given me a lick of trouble. It heats water fast, and I appreciate that I can either keep water hot all day long, or I can let it boil away. I never have to fear about the water boiling all day as it automatically shuts off if the water level is too low.
It holds enough water for four or five cups of tea, and it's easy to pour out.
I have never had any need to do any maintenance on it, except once in a while clean out the mineral deposits.
I think it looks pretty cool, and friend at work thought so too. It's unlike western tea kettles, and it doesn't take up much room on your counter.
It's now 2013, and it's still going strong. Best investment in tea making I've ever made.
