Taiwan once known as Formosa, is an island state that lies 110 miles off the southeastern coast of the mainland, characterized by rugged mountains and gently rolling plains with a humid, marine climate. Cultivation of tea began in 1717.

Brewing Suggestions

This springs’ harvest of Imperial Green Oolong was again selected from Taiwan’s famed Fu Shao Shan region. This tea is prized for its hand-rolled leaves, painstakingly made uniform in size and color, and its complex floral lilac notes.

The non aggressive nature of this exceptional Oolong leaves room to experiment with lower temperature and longer infusions. The Imperial Green Oolong’s elegant flavor and complexity becomes much more apparent, displaying the unique richness and viscosity found only in rare, high quality Oolong teas from Taiwan.
