Crafted from the stems of our Imperial Gyokuro by the same artisan growers, this Hojicha is meticulously roasted to create the unique toasty flavor and aroma. We chose it to lead our list of "everyday" teas because it perfectly represents the qualities of being easy to brew, richly flavorful and affordable. The non-aggressive nature of this tea is very forgiving of wide variations in brewing temperature and steeping time.

Brewing at lower temperatures gives a creamy mouth feel and softer flavor. Hotter water temperature draws more of the crisp, roasted tea flavor. You may want to experiment with using more than the standard 3 grams of tea, especially if you prefer a more intense brew. Enjoy multiple infusions to fully appreciate the variety of flavors these fluffy stems offer.
