Imperial Bao Zhong

Imperial Bao Zhong:

Although lots of our customers have asked for a Bao Zhong (or "Pouchong") of late, we have decided not to offer any for sale for the entire year of 2013. The quality of this great tea has been declining continuously in the recent shipments from Taiwan. As Imperial Tea Court’s Tea Master Roy Fong always says: "When in doubt, look at history. The answer is there!" He did just that, asking his tea-farmers from the famed Wuyi Shan region to re-create this exceptional Oolong,  based on the old traditional methods of their grandfathers. The result is a dark green color Oolong with elongated leaves, a bright yellow liquor and a full bodied  richness that is no longer available in any of the current Taiwanese versions. The notes are rich and robust, with intensely different floral characteristics as compared to the light floral tones of today’s Bao Zhong from Taiwan. We are very proud of this “new” creation and would like to share it with you.
