This whimsical, handcrafted purple sand yi xing teapot invokes the Chinese legend of the hard-working, lowly carp that aspired to be a dragon and, after 1,000 years, was finally able to jump through the dragon gate. In China the story is used to encourage hard work and persistence, especially in academic studies. The relief design includes a dragon on one side and a carp on the other, with a retracting dragon head in the lid that will surprise you when you pour tea!
