Brewing Suggestions

Bi Luo Chun is one of the finest and most famous green teas on earth and it is consistently one of the most anticipated green teas from each new spring crop. Due to longer winter rains, this year's harvest arrived a little bit late but still demonstrates its trademark green leaves and distinctive flavor and aromatics, reminding green tea lovers of its nick name -- Astonishing Fragrance. Though lacking some of the traditional fuzzy white fur on the buds, the 2013 harvest provides a sweet green tea flavor with a delicate but insistent aftertaste unique to Bi Lou Chun.

This year's harvest is a perfect example of why Bi Luo Chun retains the prestige of being one of the kings of all green teas, no matter what subtle environmental variables there may be, Just one sip of a well-brewed Bi Luo Chun will make you understand why it is beloved.

Preparation:

We recommend gaiwan preparation. Preheat the gaiwan and fill with 3-5 grams of leaves. Infuse with relatively cool water, 55-65C, 130-150F and infuse for 2 or 3 minutes (or longer for more flavor and intensity). To serve, pour into a pitcher or directly into warmed tasting cups and enjoy. Bi Luo Chun may be re-infused several times by gradually increasing steeping time and water temperature.
